Tattoos are definitely a love hate kinda thing, and I most certainly love them. They are dangerously addictive but so satisfying. I highly recommend thinking long and hard about what you want, as it’s something that is going to be with you forever.
Within the EU the tattoo age ranges from not having a restriction to the UK’s which is currently 18. I got my first tattoo in Amsterdam, whilst entirely sober and being fully aware and passionate about what I was getting, I have a semi colon on my wrist, something that has meant more to me than I could have ever fathomed.
A lovely lady called Selina did mine at ‘Motorink Finest Tattoing‘ Amsterdam and I couldn’t have been made to feel more comfortable, and I can’t wait to go back to her soon for more.
It is SO important to find an artist that you trust, and are comfortable with. I’d personally recommend starting small, it helps you get used to the sensation.
Check out reviews of the shop before you go, that’s your best indication of the hygiene standard of the shop, the quality of the tattooists and even an indication of them personally.
Tattoos are a permanent thing, so yes they’re not cheap, but you’re buying into someone’s art and isn’t that beautiful?
